We are moving from disaster into recovery. Donations urgently needed now.

Although camp was closed only four weeks, it is critical that we recoup our lost income in conjunction with serious unexpected fire-related expenses. For the first time in over 50 years, Elementary Camp week did not happen this summer.  Camp Bravo theater arts three-week camp evacuated and relocated to a local college. Camp is OPEN. Summer camps are back on schedule, but full recovery will require your generous donation.

The financial losses and expenditures related to this fire are still being assessed but will be significant.  What we know are initial costs to fundraise for now.  Will you give?

Alleviate Initial Fire losses of $105,750

1.    Replace Initial Loss of Income – ($74,000)

2.    Food loss – Spoiled during camp closure ($5,000)

3.    Hire Civil Engineers to develop an erosion protection plan ($7,800)

4.    Install Straw Wattles to reduce erosion up behind camp ($9,150)

5.    House & Feed Volunteers – ($3,800)

6.    Unexpected Miscellaneous repairs this summer ($6,000)

Major reinforcements above camp to stabilize the mountain for safety and removal of burned trees are essential over the next weeks and months.  Most jobs will require specialized professionals in addition to the effort of volunteers.  A work schedule for volunteers will be established.

Board President, Glenn Noreen, states that we will be soliciting for both financial support and manual support. We need to set sandbags and hay wattles in strategic areas on the hill above camp to help direct any additional water flow away from our buildings. We will need a lot of helping hands to accomplish this task before the rainy season sets in. We will also need the financial support to help close the gap.”
