Dear Friends in the Pacific Southwest District,
At our Annual Business Meeting in April, the PSWD Board presented our recommendation to dissolve the district. Dissolving the district will merge it with the Pacific Western Region.

We have updates on two items related to dissolution.
First, the Board wanted more clarity and transparency for the dissolution process. Our bylaws are silent on how we would dissolve the district.
Thus, the Board is proposing a bylaw amendment to specify the dissolution process. We have scheduled a special business meeting for Saturday August 21 from 10-11am. At this meeting, we will discuss and vote on this bylaw amendment.
Approval of this bylaw amendment will make our vote to dissolve the district at the special business meeting on Saturday October 2 from 10am-12pm clear and transparent.
Second, we want to make sure everyone knows about the Listening Sessions we have scheduled. These sessions are for you to be heard. Bring your questions, comments, or concerns about the dissolution process. Bring your questions about anything else related to our work. The first Listening Session had some deep discussion and sharing.
Listening Sessions are scheduled for Monday June 7 from 6-7:30pm and Saturday July 17 from 9-10:30am. Bring your questions and concerns about the dissolution process. This includes the above proposed bylaw amendment.
We will post additional information to our website as it develops. The events calendar will include the dates of the Listening Sessions, special meetings, and other events.
On behalf of your PSWD Board,
In community, Rev. Kevin Lawson, President PSWD
