Spring 2016-17 Call: Expanding the Music Program at Conejo Valley
Our third call of the 2016-2017 year is to support the expanded position of Music Director at the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (CVUUF). CVUUF is at the beginning of a new chapter, having called a new settled minister who brings a great interest in creating musically integrated and diverse services. CVUUF has just hired an exceptionally gifted Music Director, but currently only has the funds for 10 hours per week. As the only music professional in the congregation, the Music Director serves as accompanist, choir director, composer, and arranger, and has a strong vision to help CVUUF grow.
Expanding the Music Director position to 18 hours per week will allow the minister and music
director to create dynamic, engaging worship, and draw on the talents of the congregation. The Music Director would like to start new music groups, work with our children and encourage broader congregational participation in music. He also has ideas for composing new UU songs and arrangements that we could share throughout our district, but his skills for doing all of that cannot be engaged in only 10 hours a week. Please help CVUUF expand its vibrant music program so it is appropriate to the size, vision and future of this dynamic congregation.
The funds from this Chalice Lighter call will help CVUUF seed the funding of this expanded
position, which is expected to become self-sustaining over time through membership attraction and retention. CVUUF is deeply grateful for your support. Thank you for giving generously.
