Dear Chalice Lighter,
Jim Merrill, PSWD board president
The Unitarian Universalists of the Santa Clarita Valley (UU of SCV) has matured well since our founding in 2000. In 2015, we brought our talented minister from half to three-quarters time. Our versatile music director makes music a highlight of the worship services. Our devoted volunteer RE team leader is a retired teacher who has developed a first-rate program. Our social justice team is vibrant and committed. But we need to better communicate to the local community our values as Unitarian Universalists and all that we offer.
That’s where your support comes in. We envision hiring a contracted Outreach Consultant who will lead us in planning and launching a comprehensive plan to market and promote UU of SCV to the outside world.
Engaging this consultant, even for a limited period, will increase our visitations and enhance our growth. Our efforts could be so much more effective with an infusion of expertise around which to rally and design a strategic plan.
We would utilize the bulk of this grant to engage the Outreach Consultant, and a lesser percentage (20% max) for the initial costs of increasing media presence (e.g., boosting social media posts, placements in other media, etc.).
Funding this Chalice Lighters call will greatly help us expand our reach throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, spreading the UU message while building our congregation.
You can submit your donation online. You may also write a check and mail it to PSWD Chalice Lighters, 7511 Greenwood Avenue North, #414, Seattle, WA 98103-4627. If you send a check, please write PSWD CL in the memo line of your check and on the payment envelope.
Contributions for this call will be accepted through March 12, 2018. Any donations received after that date will go toward the PSWD Chalice Lighters Undesignated Fund. Ten percent of each call reimburses regional expenses to administer the program. If you have any questions, email email@example.com. Thank you for your generosity!
Rick Lott, President, UU of SCV Board of Trustees
